If this song doesn’t completely embody what a woman has to do in the adult entertainment industry, I don’t know what does…’Act Like a Woman. Think Like a Man.’
Now, most Black films released these days rarely interest me. Filled with bad writing, bad acting, bad editing and bad weaves. And Black people: it’s okay to demand more from our Black-made movies, even Tyler Perry. I’m tired of us (okay, y’all) rewarding mediocrity. Note to TP – we don’t need any more Madea. Call me; let’s talk. But seriously, if we’re going to separate ourselves from the herd, we have to do it better than them.
Suffice it to say, I’m excited about this movie. That hasn’t happen in a long time. They have established actors, a great soundtrack, what looks like some comic chops – let’s hope there’s a plot underneath all of the fancy make-up and neck-rolling. I sure hope so. It’ll be a boon for Black filmmakers everywhere; if not, just another embarrassment hitting the $5 DVD bin at Wal-Mart.
